Here’s the deal in health care: in the end you are the only one that has to live with the consequences of clinical and care decisions you make, no one else. Others may be affected no doubt, but you do the living, deal with the pain if any, and in the end, you do the dying. That above all is the tuth.
With that in mind, what are you goint to do? Do you blindly presume your physician knows what’s best, or do you investigte on your own? If your local facility has a poor history of clinical outcomes where as a world famous facility is just 100 miles away, what do you do? Do you do what is immediately physicially conveneint and take your chances or do you make the trip?
This is the fundamental issue in health care, we may be unclear as to who “pays” for the health care services, but who fundamentally pays for the health care outcomes, this is what CossEffective is about.
